One of my favorite things about living in Baltimore is the access to so many unique coffee shops. It feels like every neighborhood has its own little gem—whether you want something you can post on Instagram, a cozy spot to hide out with a book, or just really good caffeine to keep you functioning like an adult.
Here are my current top five cafés in Baltimore that I can’t stop visiting:
SACRÉ SUCRÉ (Fells Point)
Walking into Sacré Sucré feels like stepping into a pastry-filled dream. Every single thing looks too pretty to eat! From their jewel-like macarons to their glossy tarts. When available, I order the Yuzu Pineapple Eclair. It is not always on the menu but when it is I order two. And, ever since they moved into their new space, they have started serving ice cream. It the perfect pastry shop to grab a coffee and croissant and catch up with a friend
(Note: As of writing this post they also have pizza nights on Thursdays and Fridays!)
Good Neighbor (Hampden)
Good Neighbor is the definition of cool. It’s a café, it’s a boutique, it’s a design inspo board come to life. The coffee is excellent and the toast game is strong (the seasonal toppings are always chef’s kiss) If your Pinterest board had a café, it would look like this. I love their outside space. Its like a private little park while you enjoy your latte. While you are there don’t forget to check out their plant shop. The employees are so knowledgeable and you are sure to find a plant you’ve never seen before. Its just through the outside cafe area and up the steps.
Artifact Coffee (Woodberry)
Artifact is basically rustic comfort with caffeine. It’s tucked into a gorgeous old mill building and has this warm, farmhouse-meets-industrial energy. They don’t just serve coffee—they serve full meals that are locally sourced and ridiculously good. They are one of my favorite places to get a breakfast sandwich and they are always made fresh. (You can see right into the kitchen) Seating is limited inside, but they do have outside tables where they will bring you your food.
OneDo Coffee Roasters (Canton)
OneDo is one of those spots where the coffee always hits. They roast their beans in-house, so you know it’s fresh. They always have so sort of cool seasonal special. (currently they have a tiramisu latte!) OneDo is tucked away on a side street in Canton and give off cozy neighborhood vibes.
Catalog Coffee (Hampden)
Catalog feels like Hampden’s coziest little living room— my favorite part of the place is the custom made Baltimore wallpaper. You may not notice it at first but when you look close its SOOOO Baltimore. It’s small and intimate, with shelves lined in books and vinyl, and it’s the perfect spot to slow down and savor your coffee. My go to is a iced vanilla matcha latte with either a Classic Catalog or a Jive Turkey.
The Final Sip…
These five spots have been on heavy rotation for me lately, each with their own personality and charm. Whether I want a luxe dessert moment, a design-y space to scroll Pinterest, or just a strong cup of coffee before tackling the day, Baltimore’s café scene has it covered.
If you’re local—or just passing through—make a little coffee crawl out of it. I promise your tastebuds will thank you.
